Hartford Homes Redefines Retirement Living at St. Ninian's Court
Retirement poses questions for us all and many of us only think in terms of pensions while overlooking that crucial question of ‘Where Will I Live in My Later Years?’
The answer, for increasing numbers of people approaching retirement or who are already retired, are apartments specifically designed for ‘senior living’.
“It is already the most popular form of independent living in the United States, Australia and other parts of the western world and is acknowledged as one of the fastest growth residential markets in the UK,” says James Greenhalgh, managing director of Hartford Homes.
It is this style of living which James believes more and more people will opt for. Some are choosing to buy long before they are retired, initially as an investment for the future but also for their own use in future years.
“It is a trend we are definitely seeing here on the island where Hartford Homes is already redefining retirement living,” says James.
“This ‘redefining’ can be experienced at Hartford Homes St Ninian’s Court development in Douglas. It is made up of 36 luxury, maintenance free, boutique apartments, each with their own front door. The location, next to Noble’s Park and in the grounds of St Ninian’s Church, is an oasis of calm but nevertheless close to the town centre. The quality fittings in all the apartments are designed for practicality, allowing residents to enjoy total independence. Additionally, on offer if required is a support system tailored to individual requirements.
“We recognise that many people want their own space and privacy but should a resident want a light bulb changed, their mail collected or forwarded while away then estate’s manger Cecil Ferrer lives on the site and can be a ‘friendly neighbour’ as and when needed,” says James.
“These are apartments which are commensurate with the changing and mobile lifestyles of senior people in the 21st century,” he adds. “They offer a hassle free quality of life with no worries about maintaining a house which was once the family home. No one wants to be a burden on their family in later years and an apartment at St Ninian’s ‘future proofs’ a stress free independent retirement.”
Only three apartments are still available and the new Show Home is now open each Wednesday from 1.00pm to 4.00pm.
