Hartford makes a special delivery to Onchan Primary School
Pupils at Onchan Primary School received an exciting surprise delivery from Hartford Homes last week.
During the summer holidays, teachers Mrs Charlotte Callister and Miss Vicky Richardson set to work repainting and restocking the school’s Playbin: a vast container filled with a variety of items that children can use to support imaginative play and outdoor learning.
Mrs Callister got in touch with Hartford Homes to request spare building materials to add to the revitalised Playbin, which the leading property developer were delighted to supply.
“Play is vital to a child’s development in so many ways. Having easy access to safe and fun materials like these at break and lunch times encourages children to really use their imaginations, allowing them to be creative and play collaboratively. The possibilities are limitless and it’s going to be really exciting to see our pupils conjure up some wonderful creations.”
A mix of piping, tarpaulin and wood was delivered to the school by Hartford Homes Site Manager, Martin Riley, and Sales/Lettings Manager, Julie Jones.
“As strong advocates of sustainability at Hartford, we’re thrilled that these recycled materials are going on to be enjoyed by all the children at Onchan Primary School,” Julie said.
“A very big thank you to all the volunteers who helped us load up the Playbin. It was great to see such enthusiasm and excitement, and we can’t wait to see what you build.”
