Hartford Homes site manager Dominic McGreevy has been crowned regional winner in the prestigious Pride in the Job 2015 Awards for his role in developing a super-luxury property in Douglas.

The National House Building Council, which runs the annual competition, presented Dominic with the top prize in the Single Home class for Northern Ireland and Isle of Man at a gala ceremony in Belfast.

Dominic, who has worked for the local family-run building firm for more than five years, said “It’s recognition on a personal level but it’s not just about the individual: I’m only as good as the guys who are working alongside me so it’s a great honour for the team.

“I’d like to thank the whole Hartford team for their dedication and hard work helping make Belvedere House such an impressive, and now, award-winning property.”

The award comes as Hartford nears completion on the four-storey house at Montreux Court. The property spans an impressive 16,000 square foot, featuring six en suite bedrooms, an indoor swimming pool and gym suite, as well as an expansive glazed rear overlooking Douglas Bay.

Running for over 35 years and known in the industry as ‘the Oscars of House Building’, Pride in the Job is the only UK-wide competition which recognises site managers who achieve the very highest standards in house-building.

Dominic is one of only three site managers from the Northern Ireland and Isle of Man region who will now go forward to the NHBC’s Pride in the Job Supreme Awards, which will be presented at a ceremony in London early next year.

David Little, NHBC Regional Director, congratulated Dominic on his win: “NHBC Pride in the Job Awards recognises the hard work it takes to build high quality homes and rewards the excellence these awards uncover.

“I have visited hundreds of sites, and to reach this level of the competition means without question you have to be the elite of this industry. Dominic is building homes of a very high standard, and is worthy of the title of Regional Winner for Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man in the Single Home category.”

Dominic previously received a Pride in the Job Quality Award in 2012 for his work at Royal Buildings, a luxury apartment development in Onchan. During his time at Hartford Homes, he also managed development of a 22,000 square foot individual property in Abbeylands, a block of 30 apartments in Onchan and seven detached £1M-plus homes on The Links development in Peel.
