Hamish Faragher sings in to third place in ‘The Next Big Thing’
Congratulations to 16-year-old Hamish Faragher who scooped the third prize, sponsored by Hartford Homes, in last Saturday’s The Next Big Thing grand final.
Run by Manx Charity Junior Achievement for a fourth year, the talent competition for young local artists saw 15 finalists perform live at the Gaiety Theatre.
Hartford Homes’ Christy Whitton, who presented the £150 prize cheque to the singer and guitarist on the night, said: “A huge well done to Hamish! He performed with such confidence for someone so young. I was blown away with the level of talent at the show.”
More than a hundred acts including dancers and musicians auditioned to take part in the contest, which is considered as the Isle of Man's answer to Britain's Got Talent.
James Turpin acted as compère for the show and the judging panel included Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV soap.
