Hartford supports Mhelliah for Douglas Rugby Club - Saturday 26 October from 7pm
It’s time to make a date for Douglas Rugby Club’s annual Mhelliah. The traditional event promises to be a fun-packed night out, and Hartford Homes are proud to have donated a prize for the evening’s auction.
All the fun kicks off from 7pm on Saturday 26 October at the Douglas RUFC Clubhouse, Port-e-Chee Meadow.
Funds raised through the evening’s bidding scrum will go towards maintaining the club’s activities and facilities, with the majority going to the club’s Junior sections, helping the young Manx sporting stars of the future enjoy success in their end of season off-Island tours.
With a long and proud history dating back to 1873, Douglas RUFC is the oldest and highest ranked rugby club on the Isle of Man. An amateur club with professional abilities, they rely on community support for upkeep of their extensive clubhouse and grounds, ensuring their senior and junior teams can represent the Island for many years to come.
A great night out for a great local cause, the Mhelliah may even offer one or two surprises for enthusiastic bidders: items and activities auctioned off in previous years have included everything from sporting memorabilia and outdoor activities to freshly caught pheasants!
