The next Hartford build

Thursday 18th April 2013 | Developments | Windsor House, Port Erin

The Isle of Man, a beautiful little gem dotted in the middle of the Irish Sea has maintained unbroken economic growth for 28 years and is the safest place to live in the British Isles. The Island's way of life is idyllic, with rolling countryside and dramatic coastlines, complemented by modern infrastructure, excellent schools and great amenities. However, unlike other islands it retains a sense of space with over 95% being countryside. It is centrally located in the middle of the British Isles and has travel links to over 35 destinations.

The property market on the Island has been affected much less by the global woes than elsewhere. The volume of house sales has dropped a little over 10% and pricing has not seen the huge drops experienced elsewhere. Is has been the trend through previous downturns and is helped by low unemployment along with continuous unbroken economic growth. The proactive government, excellent financial regime and a growing population means that the Island remains a place of enterprise as well as opportunity.

Purchasers are a mix of existing residents and newcomers relocating for lifestyle, family or financial reasons. Very often it's all three; everyone has their own order. If you were to look for a property on the Island, then Hartford Homes would be a name that would come up more than once. They are renowned for cutting-edge design, a bespoke personalised service, luxurious finishes, 21st-century technology and an eco-friendly build ethos. Couple that with over 60 years of building experience and a pride in second-to-none customer service, and you can see why they have a reputation to be proud of.

The next Hartford build, Windsor House, Port Erin, is an impressive beachfront development of nine luxury apartments. The nine-foot high ceilings and huge picture windows really do make the most of the ever-changing, stunning views of Port Erin Bay and far out into the Irish Sea, and allow you to take advantage of some of the most impressive sunsets on the Island. The apartments are built to the usual Hartford exclusive design and high specification. They will be exceptionally efficient to live in, featuring under-floor heating, heat-recovery ventilation, low-energy LED lighting, ultra-efficient windows and a building fabric built to Passive Haus standards. The result is almost no maintenance and very low energy bills. Four of the nine apartments have already been sold off plan. Prices range from £755,999.

Other developments with superb sea-side settings and good access to the beach include: Knock Rushen, Castletown. Over a decade of thought, design and planning has culminated in the creation of a unique collection of 45 homes in the south of the Isle of Man. The luxury three, four and five bed homes, including four superb traditional barn conversions, have been designed, built and equipped to the highest specification with a feel for modern life and the needs of the environment. On your doorstep are great walks, beaches, natural beauty spots and the historic centre of Castletown itself with its mix of cultural and cosmopolitan character. The development is nearing completion, with over 50% of the properties now sold.

Palm Winds, Ramsey. An exclusive development of four luxury properties situated on a headland overlooking picturesque Ramsey Bay in the north of the Isle of Man. These properties have been designed to take full advantage of their stunning location, with large expanses of picture glazing overlooking gardens, countryside and coastal views beyond. The houses are contemporary in design and make full use of modern construction techniques to provide an unrivalled living environment. The use of highly-insulated construction and solar panels results in properties that have a low environmental impact and which help mitigate the rising cost of fuel. The location has a rural feel but is close to all the amenities of Ramsey. The airport is 40 minutes away and Douglas can be reached in 25 minutes.

Royal Park, Ramsey. A high-quality development comprising elegant and stylish properties tailored to suit family living. The fabulous location off Vollan Crescent, at the north end of Mooragh Promenade, provides spectacular views across Ramsey Bay. The development has its own pedestrian access to Mooragh Park which has a wide range of leisure facilities. Ramsey and the north benefit from a picturesque harbour, beaches, unspoilt countryside, and sweeping hills and valley
